Springboard on Ice
St. Paul, Minnesota, USA
Mixy partnered with Springboard for the Arts to organize a month-long celebration of winter, inviting the entire community to join in the festivities. The event aimed to encourage residents of the Rondo/Frogtown neighborhood to embrace the winter season and enjoy outdoor activities. Through a collaboration with Brownbody, a black woman-owned ice skating organization, free ice skating lessons were provided for both children and adults throughout the month.
Attendees were encouraged to visit Springboard for the Arts multiple times during the extravaganza to explore a wide range of winter activities. From free skate lessons for all to captivating ice skating performances were just the beginning as attendees had the opportunity to indulge in various winter-themed experiences. Other highlights included free s’mores and bonfire pits, the SOI24 Ice Sculpture, and complimentary hot cocoa and coffee from Flava Cafe. Additionally, attendees could engage in activities such as the snow building zone, TC Native Lacrosse teaching the fundamentals of lacrosse, a winter clothing drive through COZY and Ready.Go Art activities like WOW Metal Shop and Streetcorner Letterpress.
Rondo Block Party

Mixy Events is proud to be a founding partner in creating the Rondo Block Party, an annual celebration for the historic Rondo neighborhood in St. Paul, MN honoring the rich history of a once-thriving, diverse community tragically disrupted by the construction of freeway I-94. Held every summer, this vibrant event showcases local talent with live performances, a bustling marketplace with vendors and food trucks, and an energetic kids’ zone filled with fun activities for all ages.
With our second year as successful as the first—once again landing us a city wide acknowledge, this time on the front page of the Twin CitiesPioneer Press—Mixy Events, alongside a dedicated team of community planners, oversaw every logistical detail, from securing the venue to selecting vendors. Every aspect was carefully and heartfully crafted to ensure a safe and fun celebration honoring the spirit of Rondo. We couldn’t be prouder to contribute to this meaningful celebration of the neighborhood’s legacy.
Virtual Youth STEAM Showcase
Minnesota, USA
Mixy Events was honored to partner with Minnesota STEM Partnership to plan, manage, and execute their annual Virtual Awards Ceremony. Traditionally held in person, the event adapted to a virtual format due to the COVID-19 pandemic—but the show still went on, and Mixy was there every step of the way.
We handled everything from designing the marketing campaigns and strategy, to directing live streams across multiple platforms, managed the event schedule, wrote scripts, and coordinated all participants to ensure a seamless experience.

International Women’s Play Week
Shanghai, China 2018
Mixy Events played a pivotal role in the success of International Women’s Play Week, a 4-day event designed to promote female confidence, understanding, and mutual respect between men and women. This initiative was sparked by reports of sexual assaults in the Chinese media, where some citizens blamed the victims' clothing for the incidents. In response, event creator Panyang Hu of Nightfly, a Shanghai-based lifestyle company, launched the hashtag #dontblamesexy as part of the movement.
Mixy Events was honored to consult with Nightfly in bringing International Women’s Play Week to life, providing resources, marketing support, event staff, creative insights, logistical assistance, and day-of coordination to ensure its success.
Shanghai, China 2017-2019
As Communications Director for the award-winning Shanghai Black Fashion Week, Mixy’s own, TaVanni Singleton, managed multiple roles, including social media marketing, public relations, media relations, web design, copywriting, event production, and logistics. She worked closely with models, designers, performers, sponsors, and volunteers, while maintaining public engagement through strategic social media campaigns. Some of the videos and images following highlight a number of events throughout the year including a live designers audition, model casting call and a collaboration with The Liaison for a fashion movie screening cocktail party for the release of the movie Black Panther in Shanghai, China.
