Learn to give a soothing massage in this Mixy Made event for two. Grab a partner and learn together the techniques and skills to relieve, relax and revive with your hands.

Both attendees will have a chance to practice giving a massage to their partner and receiving the massage. This class focuses on teaching methods to use on the head, neck, shoulders and back. Using techniques that relax muscles, relieve pain and soothe the body. While practicing different types of massage from Swedish to Thai, we'll start on a chair and end up on soft cushions on the floor. All on soft fur rugs in a candlelit oasis of calm and zen.

We welcome all types of couples, pairs and partnerships. (Romantic partnerships, friendships, family, etc.) One ticket includes the workshop for two people. You must bring a partner to participate. Limited space available.

How long is the class and what time should I arrive?

The class is two hours long with a 10 minute tea break in-between partners. Please arrive 10-15 mins before to allow time locating the space and to get situated.

What is the location of the event?
ROTATING LOCATIONS!

Pay special attention to where each class is held. As we continue our search for a new permanent home for the Couples Massage Workshop we invite everyone to explore new and unique locations all around the Twin Cities with us. We will be holding classes at all sorts of relaxing venues, zen centers and chill spaces wherever they are, so be sure to pay special attention to where each class will be held when purchasing tickets.

Who is the instructor for the workshop?

TaVanni (TV) Singleton is not only the founder of Mixy Events, but she also holds a degree in Health Education with a focus in Community Health and emergency healthcare. TaVanni has been studying and practicing the art of the body massage by exploring various types of massage techniques from Thai massage to reflexology. She’s gained knowledge through trainings, classes and independent study for over 10 years and with special attention to muscles and stress points, she has carefully created this workshop to teach techniques used to relieve neck & shoulder pain, headaches and stress through massage. TaVanni Singleton is not a licensed massage therapist, but rather an experienced massage enthusiast and educator eager to share healing techniques regular people can do at home.

What items are necessary the event?

Clothes: All attendees must wear clothes at all times. We recommend wearing something that you don't mind getting oil on, although you are welcome to massage without oil. Sleeveless tops (bandeaus, tube tops, tank tops, sports bras, etc) are ideal with something loose and comfortable on the bottom (sweat pants, gym shorts, yoga pants, etc). No nudity is allowed at this event.

Oil: There will also be a variety of massage oils to use including coconut oil, lavender or unscented massage oil. Attendees may bring their own oil if they wish.

Can I attend if I am pregnant?

Due to massage techniques used in this class, unfortunately, this class is not suited for pregnant people. The American Pregnancy Association says that pregnant people can begin massage at any point during a pregnancy and that massage therapy during pregnancy has been shown to provide many benefits, including a sense of wellness, improved relaxation, and better sleep. However, many prenatal massage therapists will not accept clients until the second trimester of pregnancy. Because certain techniques and trigger points in the body can cause contractions, blood clots and premature labor, seeking professional expertise is vital. Please consult a licensed pregnancy masseuse for specialized massage methods.
