The original Halloween Ghost Story Open Mic Bonfire event is one of Mixy's favorite events to host. This event perfectly embodies the kind of adult playdates Mixy loves to host, where adults can relive the playfulness of their younger years, but with booze and useful prizes instead of candy!

Held at various locations across the Twin Cities, each annual gathering promises a unique experience. Imagine an outdoor Halloween-themed evening with activities, games, snacks, and ghost stories told around a roaring bonfire. A mixture of experienced storytellers and spooky performers share the stage with guests who are eager to share their own ghost stories or performances. All types of eerie performances are welcome from scary stories, poetry and spoken word to song, dance, rap, or even a short scene.

Come casually costumed or as you are to roast marsh mellows for s’mores and sip speciality drinks as we regale each other with ghostly stories and eerie performances.

It began in 2021 with an epic first year at The Lab Taproom in St. Paul, where guests sipped on themed seltzers and shared spooky tales. Our stage was blessed by local legend, Desdamona, and a slew of audience members well prepared to share their tale. The following year, we cozied up at the Dream Shop in North Minneapolis, gathered around their backyard stage and bonfire pit, enjoying veggie chili and cornbread bowls from food stand, Chefwitdaleft. Professional storytelling groups the Black Storytellers Alliance and the American School of Storytelling set the stage with tales to chill your bones and tickle your funny ones.
